Same-route comparison

Compare runs on the same route

Trail IQ learns how you perform on routes you repeat, then uses that history before, during and after your next workout.

Not just the final time See which parts of the route changed the result.

The useful difference

A faster time is only part of the story.

A basic comparison can tell you that a run was 18 seconds faster. Trail IQ is built to show where that time changed, how the effort compared and whether you handled a familiar section differently.

1
See the route result Compare workout time, pace or speed and available heart-rate context.
2
Find where it changed Identify the route sections where you gained time, slowed down or recovered.
3
Learn for next time Build Route Memory from repeated efforts on the same path.

A same-route example

Turn one finishing time into a useful route story.

The details depend on the workouts and data available, but a reliable comparison can connect the overall result with the section that changed it.

Result 18 seconds faster

The clear overall result against a matching earlier run.

Where 12 seconds gained

Most of the improvement came through a section where pace often drops.

Effort Similar heart rate

When both runs contain suitable heart-rate data, effort can help explain the change.

Next time Repeat the controlled start

Carry the useful execution pattern into the next attempt.

Before the workout

Know what your own history says about the route.

Choose a saved or familiar route and Trail IQ prepares the context that matters before you begin. The comparison stays within the same workout type, so running history is not mixed with walking or cycling.

  • Review the latest, quickest and typical matching efforts
  • See recurring strong and difficult route sections when enough history exists
  • Preview upcoming climbs and other meaningful route features
  • Choose a previous workout as an optional live Ghost

During the workout

See what is coming while the route is still unfolding.

Follow the assigned route, remaining distance and live metrics from the map-first workout screen. When you choose a Ghost, its marker shows where the earlier effort was at the same elapsed time.

  • Track your progress along the assigned route
  • Compare against a selected earlier effort with live Ghost
  • Receive optional route, segment and heart-rate coaching cues
  • Keep spoken cues, tones and haptics under your control

After the workout

Understand where the result was made.

The Workout Result brings the same-route story forward. See whether you finished ahead or behind, inspect where time changed and decide what is worth carrying into the next effort.

  • Compare against the previous matching workout
  • Review pace or speed changes by route section
  • Add heart-rate context when compatible data was recorded
  • Update Route Memory as reliable repeated efforts accumulate
